Tiago Apolónia

Tiago André Barata Feio Peixoto Apolonia ( born July 28, 1986 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese table tennis player.

Career

Apolonia began at the age of six years with the club Estrela Amadora with the table tennis. In 1996 he won the Iberian Cup of students his first international title. About 1 FC Saarbrücken and the TTC indeland Jülich he came to the TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. With the club he was in 2008/ 09 and 2009/10 German runner-up, 2008/ 09, he reached the second place in the Champions League.

In 2008 he participated in the individual competition at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing and was eliminated in the first round. In the same year he won together with Marcos Freitas at the European Championships in St. Petersburg, the bronze medal in the doubles competition. At the European Championships 2011 in Danzig, he won the bronze medal with the Portuguese team. In October 2010, he won by a 4-3 final win against Timo Boll the Austrian Open.

In 2013 he transferred to 1 FC Saarbrücken.
