Tian Zhuangzhuang

Tian Zhuangzhuang (Chinese田壮壮; * 1952 in Beijing, China) is a Chinese film director.

Life

The son of Tian Fang, a famous actor of the 1930s, the head of the Beijing Film Studios, after the takeover of the Communist Party, and Yu Lan, an actress who also became head of the National Children's Film Studios later, grew up in a privileged environment. He made with other famous filmmakers like Chen Kaige and Zhang Yimou as the first born after the Cultural Revolution in 1982 graduated from the Beijing Film Academy and is a representative of 5 ( filmmaker ) generation.

His films On the Hunting Ground (1984 ), The Horse Thief (1986) and The Blue Kite (1993 ) stand out from the other works before 1993, which are more commercial in nature. After the first two, which dealt already with the role of the authorities ( they play in Mongolian and Tibetan part of China ), were sold only in small numbers because of censorship, he made the material to Blue Kite unnoticed out of the country and left it in Tokyo cut where it went on to win five awards at the Film Festival. From the perspective of a boy the fate of a Chinese family is told during the 1950s and 1960s. In the episodes " Rechtsabweichlerkampagnie ", " Great Leap Forward " and " Cultural Revolution " is shown as the actual family diverged from each other and the KP takes the place of the family and it can become a community of purpose without feelings.

In China Tian was then covered with a ban on cooperation. No one should turn to him more help movies. That's why he worked for 10 years as a film producer in Beijing studios before 2003 Springtime in a Small Town, a re- adaptation of Fei Mus classic from 1948, again a separate film was released by him. In 2004, he worked first in China with the HDTV format in order to realize a documentary ( " Delamu " ) on ethnic minorities in Yunnan and Tibet.
