Tianhui 1B

Tian Hui -1 (also called " Mapping Satellite I") is a Chinese earth observation satellite, which was developed by Dong Feng Hong, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation ( CASC ) built.

He was taken on 24 August 2010 at 9:10 CEST clock with a Long March 2D carrier rocket from the Baikonur Jiuquan in a sun-synchronous and polar, about 500 km high orbit. According to the Chinese Ministry of Defense of the new satellite is essentially scientific experiments and should continue to be used for the evaluation of soil resources and for mapping tasks.

Tian Hui 1 is equipped with two different camera systems in the visible and infrared range. The first works with CCD sensors and can record at a resolution of about 5 meters and a field of view of approximately 25 degrees three-dimensional images in the spectral range between 510-690 nanometers. The other has a resolution of about 10 meters and works in the four wavelength ranges ( 430-520 nm, 520-610 nm, 610-690 nm and 760-900 nm). The swath width of the cameras is about 60 kilometers.
