Tiberiu Brediceanu

Tiberiu Brediceanu ( born March 20, 1877 in Lugoj, Austria - Hungary, now Romania, † December 19, 1968 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian composer and politician.

Brediceanu studied in Blaj and Braşov. He was there when the National Theatre, the Conservatory and the opera was founded in Cluj. In the legislative period from November 1919 to March 1920 Brediceanu was a member of the Partidul Ţărănesc in the House. Later, he became director of the bank " Albina " in Brasov, a fost director al din Bucureşti Operei (1941-1944) and worked from 1941 to 1944 as Director General of the Opera Naţională Bucureşti.

Brediceanu composed Symphonic Dances and songs and ballads for voice and piano. In addition, he published a collection of 170 folk songs and wrote several works on the Romanian folk song. He was the son of the politician Coriolanus Brediceanu (1849-1909), brother of the diplomat Caius Brediceanu (1879-1953) and Cornelia Brediceanu (1897-1965), later the wife Lucian Blagas, as well as the father of the composer and conductor Mihai Brediceanu ( 1920-2005 ).
