Tie Domi

Tahir " Tie " Domi ( born November 1, 1969 in Windsor, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who gained notoriety especially during his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs as an enforcer. During his active career he graduated in 1020 NHL games during the regular season and received a total of 3515 penalty minutes, this value is exceeded in the NHL only by Tiger Williams and Dale Hunter.

Career

Domi, who is of Albanian descent, grew up in Belle River, Ontario. He began his active career in 1984 at the Belle River Canadiens, for those in the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League he was in use one year. During this time he joined mainly through his numerous fights in appearance and received in 28 games a total of 98 penalty minutes. The following year, the right-handed shooter went for the Windsor Bulldogs on the ice, collecting 346 penalty minutes in 42 games. From 1986 to 1989 he played in the Ontario Hockey League with the Peterborough Petes. In the NHL Entry Draft in 1988, he was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round to total 27 position.

In the season 1989/90 he completed his first two games for the Maple Leafs in the NHL and was doing his debut in the game against the Detroit Red Wings. On 19 September 2006, Tie Domi, who could not imagine, once again wearing a different shirt than the Leafs, announced his retirement.
