Geography

Geographical Location

Tiefenbach is located in the Donau -Wald, in one of the southern foothills of the Bavarian Forest north- west of the Ilz and north of the Danube on the B 85 Tiefenbach is located just 9 km north of the University and Passau. After Tittling it is 15 km to 32 km Grafenau and the Federal Highway 3 (exit Passau -Nord) 7 km.

History

Tiefenbach was early in the possession of the bishops of Passau, which left it to the Earl of neck and other noble families as a fief. The Sünzl family of Söldenau was invested since 1613 with the Hofmark Tiefenbach and resident at Castle Weideneck at Tiefenbach. The owner was up for sale the Hofmark by Jacob Ferdinand Graf von Thun to the Bishop of Passau 1690 Elementary and Lower Court Lord, Tiefenbach then became part of the Bishopric of Passau. With the Imperial Diet of 1803 the city became part of Bavaria. Tiefenbach was one of the few parts of the high pin that fell in 1803 in Bavaria.

Since the old church was dilapidated, now existing church was built from 1842 to 1844 and on 12 October 1848 in honor of St.. Consecrated Margaretha. 1855 the village had 16 houses out of the parish church.

Incorporations

The three municipalities Haselbach, Kirchberg and Tiefenbach goods from 1818 bis 1971/1972 independent communities. On 1 January 1972 Haselbach was incorporated into the municipality of Tiefenbach. The greater part of Kirchberg was added on July 1, 1972. The rest of the Kirchberg district with the scarf thing left of the Danube and the hamlet Minihof (formerly Mimming ) was incorporated in the city of Passau and there added to the newly formed district Hacklberg.

Parish council

The council consists of 20 people, including a woman. Represented are CSU, SPD, Civil voters, Free Voters and the Greens and is calculated as follows since the municipal election held on 2 March 2008 together:

  • CSU: 8 seats ( 39.2 % of the vote )
  • SPD: 4 seats (18.1% of the vote)
  • FWG: 3 seats ( 17.5 % of the vote )
  • Civil voters Tiefenbach: 3 seats (15.9% of the vote)
  • Green: 2 seats (9.4% of the vote)

Mayor

1 Mayor Georg silver iron ( CSU), who was elected at the municipal election in 2008 with 65.32 % of the valid votes in the first ballot.

Finances

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 2,438,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 490,000.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
