The Tihuta Pass (Romanian Pasul Tihuta, Hungarian Borgói - Hago, as Borga, Borgo Pass or Bargau called ) is a mountain pass in the Eastern Carpathians, in Bargau Mountains, in the north of Romania. It is situated at 1200 m altitude.

The pass road connecting the city of Bistrita ( Transylvania ) in the west to the spa and ski resort of Vatra Dornei in the east. Further east, the road leads through the Bukovina to Moldova. You through sparsely populated areas of a low mountain range in which today bears and wolves have their home. The pass divides the Eastern Carpathians into a northern and a central portion.

Literary scene

The pass is, under the name of Borgo Pass, one of the venues of the 1897 novel Dracula published by the writer Bram Stoker ( 1847-1912 ), who, however, never visited this place, but has made ​​it freely according to his imagination.
