Tikhaya Sosna River

The Tichaja Sosna (Russian Тихая Сосна ) is a right tributary of the Don in the Russian oblasts Belgorod and Voronezh.

The Tichaja Sosna springs on the center plate in the Russian Belgorod Oblast. It flows in a north-easterly direction in the Voronezh Oblast and ends after 161 km on the right side in the Don. The Tichaja Sosna drains an area of ​​4350 km ². The river is fed primarily by snow melt. In March and April the Tichaja Sosna holds every year flood. The mean discharge ( MQ ) 87 km above the mouth is 5.9 m³ / s The largest outflows are at 590 m³ / s, while the smallest are at 0.02 m³ / s. On the river are the towns Alexeyevka, Ostrogozhsk and Birjutsch.
