Tilo Gutzeit

Tilo Gutzeit (born 12 January 1938) is a former German figure skater.

Tilo Gutzeit 1955 German champions in figure skating men. In the following years he was also four times German vice-champion behind Manfred Schnelldorfer. In the period 1955-1960 he participated in five European Championships as well as World Cups. At the European Championships, he never placed worse than seventh. His best finish was fifth place in 1956 and 1960. At the World Championships was also his best result of fifth place he reached in 1960. Gutzeit took part in the 1956 and 1960 Winter Olympics and finished tenth or ninth. He started for the Düsseldorf EC.

At the German Championships in 1955 it was due to a calculation error initially awarded only the silver medal and the only 12 -year-old Manfred Schnelldorfer crowned German champions. The error was only discovered months later by the then Judge Werner Rittberger, and the result has been corrected. The medals were also exchanged.

Tilo Gutzeit was traded as a possible pair of runners for Marika Kilius after the pair Marika Kilius and Franz Ningel separated because of the unfavorable proportions. However Kilius opted for Hans -Jürgen Baumler.
