Tim Bevan

Tim Bevan (born 1958 in Queenstown, New Zealand) is a New Zealand film producer.

Life and work

Along with Sarah Radclyffe in 1983 he founded the production company Working Title Films (originally Big Science Ltd. ); the first production of the company was the 1984 short film The Man Who Shot Christmas. Since 1992 he leads this together with his colleague Eric Fellner.

Tim Bevan was nominated three times for an Oscar in 2008 for Atonement, 1999, and Elizabeth in 2013 for Les Misérables. In 2007 he was honored as Best Producer at the London Critics Circle Film Awards.

From 1992 to 2001 he was married to actress Joely Richardson. Together they have one child.

Honors and Awards

He was appointed by the Queen Commander of the Order of the British Empire ( CBE) in 2005. On 11 July 2013, the honorary doctorate from the University of York was awarded.
