Tim Bishop

Timothy H. " Tim " Bishop ( born June 1, 1950 in Southampton, Suffolk County, New York ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, and since 2003 member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the state of New York.

Biography

Tim Bishop has lived in the twelfth generation in Southampton on Long Iceland. He received his bachelors degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, and his master's degree at Long Iceland University. He served as Provost longer time at Southampton College. Overall, he was employed in various capacities around 29 years at the College.

In his first election to the U.S. House of Representatives, he sat down with around 3000 votes by projection to Republican Felix Grucci. Since then, he is representative of the first New York district in Congress House of Representatives. Bishop was able to prevail in each case against his mostly Republican opponent at the next elections ( 2004, 2006 and 2008). In 2010, he narrowly won with 235 votes ahead of Randy Altschuler.

Bishop lives with his wife Kathryn and their two daughters Molly and Megan in Southampton.
