Tim Carter (footballer)

Tim Carter ( born October 5, 1967 in Bristol, † 19 June 2008 Stretford ) was an English footballer.

Tim Carter made ​​his debut in 1985 in the first team his home club Bristol Rovers. In this year he was appointed three times in the English Under-17 team. Christmas 1987, he joined the then third division FC Sunderland. Until 1992, he made the association that rose in the period up to the first division, 37 games and 13 cup games. In 1988 he was loaned to Carlisle United and Bristol City in 1991 to Birmingham City. High point in Carter's career at Sunderland was the lost FA Cup final against Liverpool in 1992, in which, however, his rival Tony Norman in goal. After his playing time Carter was the first full-time goalkeeping coach at Sunderland and on a part time basis of the Estonian national team.

On 19 June 2008, a pedestrian found the dead Carter in a bush where it had apparently hanged.
