Tim Friday

Timothy Friday ( born March 5, 1961 in Burbank, California ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who played in his playing days from 1981 to 1986 among others for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League.

Career

Tim Friday began his career as a hockey player at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which he attended from 1981 to 1985, while he was parallel to the ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association played. With his University team he won in 1984 and 1985 respectively the championship of the ECAC Hockey and 1985 was also the NCAA championship. On May 27, 1985, he was awarded a contract as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. In the 1985/86 season, he played a total of 23 NHL games for Detroit, where he prepared three goals. In parallel, he ran in the American Hockey League farm team for Detroit's Adirondack Red Wings. With Adirondack, he won the Calder Cup at the end of the season. For this success he contributed with 37 points scorers, including two goals in 59 games. Due to a severe shoulder injury had to end his career early Friday after only one year in the professional sector.
