Tim Grohmann

Tim Grohmann (* December 27, 1988 in Dresden) is a German rower. In 2012, he was Olympic champion in the quadruple sculls.

Grohmann lives in Freitaler district of Pest joke.

Career

Grohmann began in 2001 with the rowing. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 Grohmann labeled with the sculls second place, 2006 he was a junior world champion, both times was already Karl Schulze in the same boat. Of 2007, Grohmann and Schulze on the double sculls and won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships. After a third place finish at the U23 World Championships in 2008 and eighth place at the helm European Championships 2008 in the adult class Grohmann returned in 2009 in the quadruple sculls back. In the World Cup the German sculls in the cast Tim Grohmann, Karsten Brodowski, Marcel Hacker and Tim Bartels won the Rotsee regatta of Lucerne, at the World Rowing Championships 2009 in Poznan won the quadruple sculls in the same cast the bronze medal behind the boats from Poland and Australia.

2010 joined the German sculls to a new cast with Stephan Kruger, Tim Grohmann, Lauritz Schoof and Mathias Rocher and reached the second place in the World Cup regatta in Munich and also took second place in Lucerne with Hans Gruhne for Kruger. With Gruhne impact on the German sculls finished fourth at the helm European Championships in 2010 and the World Rowing Championships 2010.

2011 won the German quadruple sculls at the World Cup kick-off in Munich with Tim Grohmann, Philipp Wende, Karl Schulze and Lauritz Schoof, after they had won in this occupation German championship title. In the occupation Schulze, turning, Schoof and Grohmann the boat took second place at the World Cup in Hamburg and won in Lucerne. With this line of sculls also finished second place at the World Championships in Bled behind the Australian boat. At the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London he won the gold medal with the quadruple sculls.

A year later he went to the 2013 World Rowing Championship in Chungju to 2nd place. Defeat them were from Croatia, and behind them followed the United Kingdom.
