Timothy Matthew " Tim " Howard ( born March 6, 1979 in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey) is an American soccer goalkeeper and national team.

Career

Beginnings in New Jersey

Tim Howard is the son of an African American father and a Hungarian mother, who had emigrated to the popular uprising in 1956 in the United States. Tim Howard grew up in New Jersey in poor conditions. His career as a professional football player started right after high school. He played for the North Jersey Imperials in the United Soccer Leagues ( USISL ).

Major League Soccer

1998 took him to Major League Soccer ( MLS) under contract, which housed him in the NY / NJ MetroStars. For this team he played until 2003. Howard was initially behind goalkeeper Tony Meola, later behind Mike Ammann, but moved up to number one, as Ammann was sold before the 2001 season. Tim Howard has Tourette's syndrome since childhood. He has sudden muscle jerks on one arm, one eye or neck, sometimes on some muscles simultaneously. In 2001 he received from the MLS entitled " Humanitarian of the Year" ( German as " Benefactor of the Year" ) for his work with individual suffering from Tourette's syndrome children.
