Tim Stapleton

Timothy Gabriel Stapleton ( born July 19, 1982 in La Grange, Illinois ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since June 2013 at the Ak Bars Kazan in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Tim Stapleton began his career as a hockey player with the Green Bay Gamblers, for by 2002 he was active from 2000 in the United States Hockey League. He then played four years for the ice hockey team of the University of Minnesota Duluth. Towards the end of the season 2005/ 06 Stapleton played for the first time in professional hockey, as he stood in both the regular season and the playoffs for the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League on the ice. In the summer of 2006, the Americans won a contract with Jokerit Helsinki SM- liiga of Finland, he played for the next two years and with which he was vice-champion in 2007.

Before the season 2008/ 09 the Centre returned to North America where he signed as a free agent contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. However, he came within four NHL games only in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies used. In early July 2009 it transferred the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Pavel Kubina in exchange for Garnet Exelby and Colin Stuart to the Atlanta Thrashers.

In July 2012, Stapleton signed a contract with the HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League, scoring in 58 KHL games 45 points scorer for the club. He then moved within the league to Ak Bars Kazan.

Internationally

2012 Stapleton was nominated for the first time for the U.S. national team and graduated with this the World Cup in 2012. During the World Cup a year later, which was held in Stockholm and Helsinki, Stapleton was again included in the national team and won with the bronze medal.
