Tim Walberg

Timothy Lee " Tim " Walberg ( born April 12, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2009 he represented the state of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives. After his election victory in 2010, he will assume this mandate on January 3, again in 2011.

Career

Tim Walberg visited 1969-1970 Western Illinois University in Macomb. Subsequently, he studied until 1975 at Fort Wayne Bible College and then to 1978 at Wheaton College, also in the state of Illinois. Later he took the profession of a clergyman. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party.

Between 1983 and 1998 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Michigan. In 2004 he applied unsuccessfully for his party's nomination for the upcoming elections for the Congress. In the congressional elections of 2006, he was then in the seventh constituency of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Joe Black on January 3, 2007. As he defeated Democrat Mark Schauer in 2008, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 2009. He was there as a conservative and was a member of the Agriculture Committee, in labor and education committee and for some sub committees. In the 2010 elections Walberg was able to regain his old seat in Congress. This result was in the national trend in favor of the Republican Party. He is expected until at least January 3, 2013 may remain in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Tim Walberg is married and has three children. Privately, he lives in Tipton.
