Tim Wiese ( born December 17, 1981 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German football goalkeeper, who is since the 2012/13 season at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga under contract.

Career

Association

At the start of his footballing career in the youth of the E- DJK Dürscheid meadow was still striker. In 1989 he was in the youth section of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he was ordered into the goal by his coach because of hamstring problems. There he went through all the youth teams.

He then moved to the Regionalliga Nord to SC Fortuna Köln, his first team in the men's area. There he fell Gerald Ehrmann, the goalkeeping coach of 1.FC Kaiserslautern, on. Wiese moved to Betz mountain and pushed the goalkeeper Georg Koch. In the season 2004/05 drew meadow at the end of the first round to a torn ACL in his left knee and fell the rest of the season. In 2005 he moved to Werder Bremen, where he initially wrote a contract until 2008. In a preparation game for the new season his cruciate ligament tear again. Thus he fell again several months and completed about a year after the last competitive match. He made his debut on 8 February 2006 in the game against VfB Stuttgart, as he came off the bench in 81 minutes for the then main goalkeeper Andreas Reinke.

After he had obtained by a violation of Andreas Reinke a place in Bremer Tor, he made the evening of March 7, 2006 at the Champions League second leg against Juventus just before the end a mistake ( he had a trapped edge again out of the hand fall ), which resulted in the second round to the resignation of Bremen. After a 3-2 first leg in Bremen Werder lost the return leg 1-2. On 19 October 2007 meadow extended his contract until 2012.

A stir he made in February 2008, when he held up three penalty within three match days. In the semi-finals of the DFB - Cup 2008/ 09 against Hamburger SV he stopped three penalties in the penalty shootout.

Meadow did not renew his end of the season 2011/12 expiring contract with Werder and was committed for the following season by the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for four years until 30 June 2016. At Hoffenheim, he was appointed at the end of the preparation of coach Markus Babbel to captain the team. Still in the same season had to give the captain's armband because of persistent weaker performance back lawn. Later he was under new coach Marco Kurz after Heurelho Gomes obligation only the number three and in the meantime removed for disciplinary reasons from the professional squad. Even when Gomes injured 28 on matchday and failed to end of the season, Meadow was not further considered under new coach Mark Gisdol. To him, the goalkeeper Koen Casteels and Jens Grahl were preferred.

On January 21, 2014, the termination of the contract was announced with meadow. He reportedly received a severance payment of six million euros. About a month later, however, it was announced that meadow had only received a compensation payment and that his base salary was reduced. The Treaty of meadow, which remains exempt from the match and training operation, is still valid until 30 June 2016. The association would thus be "options ".

National

Meadow completed a total of 14 games for the German U-21 national team. He hoped for an appointment to the senior national team, which failed to materialize, however. In September 2007, he criticized Germany coach Joachim Loew for the public.

On 14 August 2008 was subsequently lawn for the first time for a senior international ( Germany - Belgium on August 20, 2008 ) was nominated for the injured Rene Adler. However, he just sat on the bench, since Robert Enke was in the starting lineup.

This meadow is the only German players from the squad who has played at the 2010 World Cup not a game. By March 2012, Wiese had played six A- international matches, none of them won the German national team. August 9, 2012 announced Löw, no longer to plan with meadow.

Private

Meadow is married to his longtime girlfriend Grit Freiberg since December 20, 2010 and has one daughter. It has a high-school diploma.
