Timashyovsk

Timashevsk (Russian Тимашёвск ) is a town with 53 924 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in the Krasnodar region of Russia. It is located away from the capital of the Kuban Krasnodar region on the river Kirpili, 68 km.

History

The village was founded in 1794 as a Cossack settlement called Timaschowski was founded cures on the banks of the river Kirpili. The name comes from the Zaporozhian Sich. 1861 was the settlement of farmers who were not members of the Cossack state, approved by the Government of Russia. In the next few decades originated in the village of new infrastructure: in 1874 the first school was established in 1912 opened a post and telegraph office, in 1924 began a hospital with 12 beds and a staff of six places his work.

In 1943 the settlement was occupied during World War II by German forces and burned to the ground during the withdrawal of the troops.

On December 30, 1966, the settlement city status and name Timashevsk received.

Major industrial enterprises of the city are an asphalt plant, a brickyard, a Tetra Pak factory as well as several food factories, including a dairy, the Wimm -Bill-Dann Foods belongs to the Russian food company.
