TimiÈ™ County
Timiş is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in the Banat region with the district capital Timişoara. The license plate number and the common abbreviation for the circle are TM.
The Timiş county is bordered on the north by the Arad county, on the east by the Hunedoara County, in the southeast and the south by the county Caras -Severin, further to the south and southwest by Serbia and in the west and north-west of Hungary.
Demography
On 1 January 2009 676 360 inhabitants were registered in Timiş county and thus had a population density of 78 inhabitants per km ².
Geography
With a total area of 8697 km ² Timiş is the largest of the 41 counties. This corresponds to 3.63 % of the area of Romania.

The Timiş county consists of officially 325 villages. Of these, 10 have the status of a city, 89 to a community. The rest are assigned to administrative cities and towns.
