Timo Aaltonen

Timo Aaltonen ( born April 11, 1969 in Vehmaa, Finland ) is a 1.89 m high and 130 kg heavier Finnish shot putter who starts for Turun Urheiluliitto, the same club, the Paavo Nurmi also belonged. He won with a distance of 20.62 meters at the Indoor Athletics 2000 European Championships gold medal (qualification length: 20,57 m).

Aaltonen was the 13th shot putter, who was admitted to the Finnish 20-meter club after he had made an impact over 20.12 m during a competition on June 20, 1998 Kuortane.

In the 2000 Olympics he finished in 12th place with 18,64 m In the World Athletics Championships 2001, he was ranked fourth ( 20.24 m). His outdoor personal best of 20.70 meters he set up in Eurajoki (Finland ) on 1 July 2000.
