Timo Salonen

Timo Salonen ( born October 8, 1951 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish former rally driver.

The glasses and heavy smokers was due to his plump stature as well as his "cool" posturing ( inter alia driving his rally car with one hand only ) gladly honored with the Finnish nickname " Löysä ", what with roughly with " Loose " but also " the Negligent " can be translated. Salonen in 1985 on a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, together with his co-driver Seppo Harjanne World Rally Champion. According to the World Rally Championship 1992, he ended his career, but he was at the Rally Finland 2002, a limited use to a comeback and drove it a Peugeot 206 WRC on the 14th place overall.
