Timothy Mack

Timothy Mack ( Tim Mack, born September 15, 1972 in Cleveland) is an American pole vaulter and Olympic champion.

Timothy Mack began with the pole vault as a young sports student 1991. According to some successes in university championships he rose to 2000 so far that he was allowed to start at the U.S. Trials for the Olympic Games in Sydney. In a high-class competition, he was only eighth with 5.81 m and was not allowed to Sydney. Things went better at the 2001 U.S. Championships when he finished second and was nominated for the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, where he finished ninth. He was in the hall U.S. champion and outdoor runner- 2002. At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis he came to the sixth place.

The highlight of his career came in 2004, but at the Olympic Games in Athens. He had already won with 5.90 m U.S. Trials. In Athens, he was finally at 5.95 m Olympic champion. In the same season he skipped even at the World Cup Final in Monte Carlo with 6.01 m the magic limit of 6 meters.

Then it took injuries to create, so that he has so far failed again to qualify for a major international championship.
