Timothy Winter

Timothy Winter aka Abdal Hakim Murad - (* 1960 ) is a British Islamic scholar at the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge and one of the UK's leading Islamic scholars.

He was taught at Westminster School and became a Master of Arts ( Master of Arts ) in Arabic. He is the general writer for the Islamic text series of Al -Ghazali, according to his translations of The Death and what comes after and the disciplining of the soul (both works of Al -Ghazali ), it has received much acclaim.

Timothy Winter is a member of Pembroke College, Cambridge and a member of the Sheikh Zayed Lectureship in Islamic Studies. He is also Director of Islamic Studies at Wolfson College and administrator of The Muslim Academic Trust, Director of The Anglo - Muslim Fellowship for Eastern Europe and President of the British Friends of Bosnia Herzegovina.

His projects are mostly Muslim -Christian relations, Islamic ethics and the Orthodox response to Islamic extremism (Orthodox Muslim response to extremism )

He regularly attended Islamic classes in Cairo and Jeddah, and was taught here, among others, by Ahmad al - Haddad Mashhur and Ismail al - Adawi. He has translated several classical Arabic works, including Imam al- Bayhaqis Seventy -Seven Branches of Faith ( 77 branches of faith ) and Selections from the Fath al -Bari ( Fath al - selections from the Bari).

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You (English A Common Word Between Us and You), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English " Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... " ) submitted (13 October 2007).
