Tincher

The Tincher was an automobile brand that was operated from 1903 to 1906 in Chicago, Illinois, and from 1907 to 1909 in South Bend (Indiana). The car was named after its designer, Thomas L. Tincher, but was produced by the Chicago Coach and Carriage Company.

The Tincher was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show in 1903, where his air brakes were the technical highlight of the event. The compressed air was used not only for braking, but one could thus inflate the tire and operated the horn.

The Tincher at that time was also one of the most expensive cars to be manufactured; a racing version costing U.S. $ 12,000. Customized and closed structures could also be rise even higher price. The smaller Tincher with a wheelbase of 2286 mm between cost 5000, - and 10.000, - U.S. $.
