The Tindhólmur is a small rugged island of the Faroe Islands, which is not counted among the 18 islands due to their size, but to the spars of the Faroe Islands or Archipelago. With 65 hectares it is the largest spar of the archipelago.

Tindhólmur means " summit Holm", etymologically something like " zinc spar ", due to its bizarre shape with jagged peaks. These peaks are called Ytsti, Arni, Litli, Breiði and Bogdi ( Ultimate, Eagle, Little, Wide and Curved ).

He is one of the most famous paintings and photo opportunities of the Faroe Islands.

The Tindhólmur located west off the island of Vágar ( Map qv) on Sørvágsfjørður along the ferry from Sørvágur to Mykines and at the same time the approach path to the airport Vágar. Between Vágar and the Tindhólmur are the cliffs Drangarnir, and to the west is another spar Gáshólmur. Good views can be enjoyed also by Bøur and Gásadalur and the mountain path that connects the two places.

On its southern side of the Tindhólmur breaks off abruptly with a steep wall. This form was created during the Ice Age. On the spar, there are two houses, which are not permanently inhabited, but serve as summer homes. Regular transport links do not exist.
