Development

The Tipsy Nipper is an evolution of the 1947 constructed Tipsy Junior and represents the end point of a series begun in 1935 by light aircraft, which fall were constructed by the director of Avions Fairey tips. The first prototype of the Tipsy Nipper with the registration OO -NP still had an open cockpit and used a converted Volkswagen engine with 30 hp. The first flight took place on December 2, 1957. The second prototype OO NX already had a closed cockpit and a lengthened fuselage, but still used the same engine.

Construction

The hull consists of a steel tube construction of welded chrome - moly tubing with fabric covering. For the cowl and fuselage fiberglass used. The full-vision canopy consists of a piece. The aircraft is a cantilever mid-wing monoplane. The wing is made ​​of wood construction. It has a continuous box beam, a plywood nose and is covered with fabric. The aircraft is a rigid tricycle landing gear with mechanically actuated disc brakes on the main wheels. The nose wheel is controllable. At the end of the fuselage a Notsporn is attached.
