The Tirich Mir ( Urdu ترچ میر ) is at an altitude of 7708 meters is the highest mountain in the Hindu Kush. Altitude of 7690 m refer to the eastern summit.

The first ascent was made on July 21, 1950 by Arne Næss, P. Kvernberg, H. Berg, and Tony Streather, members of a Norwegian expedition.

The Tirich Mir is about 240 km north-west of Nanga Parbat and about 300 km from Kabul and Peshawar located. Its ridges extend in all directions: north to Tirich north, east to the eastern summit, south to the Three Glacier Peak and west to Khada Barma. Are mighty glaciers between these ridges.
