Tirreno–Adriatico
The professional cycling race Tirreno- Adriatico is a weeklong Italian stage race which is held annually in March. It belonged to those introduced in 2005 UCI ProTour, a series of the most important bike race of the year. Since 2011, the race is part of the follow-up series UCI World Tour.
The trip between the west and the Italian Tyrrhenian coast ostitalienischen Adriatic coast offers with its varied profile especially sprinters and all-round riders many opportunities to excel and has become a fixture next to simultaneously discharged Paris-Nice stage race. The race is considered to be good preparation for the classic Milan-San Remo. Record was the Belgian Roger De Vlaeminck, who won the race six times 1972-1977 in a row.
