Tithi

Tithi is the Vedic name of the thirtieth part of a synodic month, which corresponds to the Indian calendar a lunar day. The first and last day of the month lunar assigned, while the other lunar days primarily wear exclusively ordinal name. The 30 Tithi are subdivided according to the lunar month halves into two groups of 15 lunar days: the new moon and full moon to new moon. The 30th lunar day selectively transmits the name Thirtieth. 360 Tithi give twelve synodic months and form the lunar year of about 354 days.
