Tjeerd Oosterhuis

Tjeerd Oosterhuis ( born December 25, 1971 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch composer and music producer.

Career

Oosterhuis was born the son of a theologian, poet and former priest Huub Oosterhuis.

In the late 1980s he founded with his younger sister Trijntje the band Total Touch. In 1996, two with the singles Touch Me Here and Somebody else 's lover the commercial breakthrough. This appeared in the same year album Total Touch with more than 500,000 copies to date, the best-selling debut album by a Dutch band and stayed 116 weeks in the Dutch charts.

For the charity project Artiesten voor Azië, which collected donations to help the victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean on 26 December 2004, he composed the number -one hit as ever doen iets kan.

In the spring of 2009 he was a guest judge in the second season of the Dutch edition of the talent show X Factor.

He is married to singer Edsilia Rombley since 1 September 2006.
