Tlumačov

Tlumačov ( German Tlumatschau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 20 kilometers west of Zlín and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Location

Tlumačov is on the road to Zlin, near the Morava river in the border area of ​​South Hana.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1141 and in a Moravian bishop certificate of Heinrich Zdik. 1241 devastated a Tartar invasion Tlumatschau. In 1373 the church was first mentioned. During the Thirty Years' War the Swedes in 1634 ravage the place. In the Silesian War in 1742 the occupation Tlumatschow done by Prussian Tuppen. On October 17, 1841, the first passenger train travels through Tlumatschau. In May 1945 Tlumatschau is captured by units of the Romanian Army.
