TMM-1 mine

The TMM -1 ( Tenkovska Mina Metalna ) is an anti-tank mine from the former Yugoslavia, which was used during the Yugoslav Wars. It is an exact replica of the German land mine 43 from the Second World War.

Description

The TMM -1 has a round mine body made of sheet steel. On top of mine is in the middle the igniter receiving. Is the screwed-on, three-stage pressure cap on the igniter receiving. The side of the mine body, a metal carrying handle is used in welded tabs. On mine the bottom and on the side are each a Nebenzündkanal to receive a recovery backup.

Function and Igniter

The igniter UTMM -1 is made of steel and is used in connection with the detonator L-6.

By a pressure from about 130 kg to the pressure plate, a firing pin is pushed into the fuze body. A shear pin is sheared off and the firing pin strikes the primer. This creates a jet of flame that initiates the detonator on the effective charge.

The mine can also be provided at the two Nebenzündkanälen with pressure-relief or Zugzündern to prevent a manual recovery.
