Tò he

Chinese Teigfiguren or Teigmännchen (Ch miànrén面 人/面 人or miànrénr面 人 儿/面 人人; niēmiànrén捏 面 人; miànsù面塑; engl dough figurines. ) Are molded from colored glutinous rice flour figures. The art of their production is mainly distributed in northern China.

  • Beijing mianren Lang ( Haidian District, Beijing)
  • Shanghai mianren Zhao ( Shanghai Research Institute of Arts and Crafts )
  • Caozhou mianren ( Mudan District, Heze City, Shandong Province)
  • Caoxian jiangmiren ( Cao county, Shandong Province)

Written records of their manufacture date back to the time of the Han Dynasty.
