To the Struggle Against World Terrorism (German: For the fight / the effort against terrorism ), also known as the Tear of Grief ( tears of sorrow ) or Tear Drop Memorial, is the name of a commemorative sculpture in Bayonne in the United States.

Background

The work comes from Zurab Tsereteli and was a gift from the Russian government to the United States to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 and the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. The Tear Drop Memorial was during a ceremony on 11 September 2006 in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Bill Clinton, revealed.

The memorial is made 30 feet high and made ​​of steel and bronze. In the middle of the artwork the 12m size replica of a tear of steel is attached. At the foot are attached around granite panels on which the names of the victims of the terrorist attacks are engraved.
