Tobruk (Band)

Tobruk was a British band of the 1980s from the area around Birmingham.

Description

First, Neil Evans, Bryant and Davies played in the band Stranger in Bedford. In 1981, she went into Birmingham and teamed up with Woodward and Vallance together to Tobruk. A demo recording helped them to a gig in The Friday Rock Show, which in turn led to the recording studio with Neat Records.

Her first two songs Wild on the Run and The Show Must Go On 1983 appeared on a single. Then he moved to EMI / Parlophone and the recording of their debut album Wild on the Run, released in May 1985. The nine tracks on it are of a consistently high quality and have been praised by many critics. Nevertheless, the band so that the big breakthrough did not succeed.

To the follow-up album In Motion there was controversy. It could not keep up high with the debut Parlophone and refused to publish it. So the band parted from the label and broke up shortly thereafter completely. In 1988, the album was released but still under a new title in an Independent label.
