Toby Stevenson

Toby Stevenson ( born November 19, 1976 in Odessa, Texas) is an American athlete who won the silver medal in the pole vault at the Olympic Games.

The student of Stanford University was known among other things, that he always jumps with a jump helmet. Through outstanding performance, he first fell in University Championships and at the 2002 U.S. Championships, where he finished fourth with 5.74 meters. In 2003 he was Pan-American champion.

2004 was his most successful year yet. At the U.S. Championships, he qualified in second place for the Olympic Games in Athens. Prior to the Olympics, he jumped 6.00 m for the first time and was better than the American champion Timothy Mack, as he went to Athens. In Athens, he finally won with 5.90 m silver medal behind Timothy Mack, who was at 5.95 m Olympic champion.

The following year he qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki, but did not appear to injury.
