Toce

The course of the Toce

It rises on the south side of belonging to Italy Griespass (near the Nufenenpass ) near the Swiss border.

Below Frütt (it.: La Frua ), he rushes over a first valley terrace ( Tosafall / Cascate del Toce ) 143 m down into Val Formazza (German Pomatt ). It flows through the Formazza and after another stepped valley the Valle Antigorio. In Crevola d' Ossola flows from the right coming from the Simplon Pass Diveria. Here the valley widens, that is, from here on Valle d' Ossola. The Toce passes through the center of the valley, Domodossola, further Villadossola and Ornavasso. Despite the intensive development of the valley it retains its character as a broad executed outsourced wild river. After 76 km it flows at Fondotoce - halfway between Grave Toce and Verbania - Pallanza - in Lake Maggiore.
