Tochigi SC

Tochigi S. C. (Japanese栃 木SC; Esu Shī Tochigi ) is a football club based in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The club has been playing the 2009 season in the J. League Division 2

It is the only professional club, who are the American term " soccer" in the name. This is mainly due to the efforts of the league who want the British "football" term spread.

The coat of arms of the club served as a template for the Hong Kong first division club FC Tai Chung.

History

The club was founded in Tochigi Prefecture in 1953 by teachers. Alleging called the club Tochigi Teacher's Football Club (Japanese栃木 教員 サッカー 部, Tochigi Kyōin Sakka Bu). After other professional groups in the club were allowed to rid itself of the misleading name in 1994 and was from then on as Tochigi Soccer Club.

2005, a Task Force was established to rise for the purpose of inclusion in the professionalized J. League Division 1. In January 2007, the club was granted a license and was able to rise due to the sporting successes in the 2009 season.
