Tockus
Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill ( Tockus leucomelas )
As tokos are referred to Germans, the species of the genus tokos ( Tockus ) and Ocyceros. The genus contains 15 species Tockus and is found only in Africa. They are the smallest members of the Hornbills ( Bucerotidae ). The genus Ocyceros occurs in South Asia and includes the types Malabartoko, Keilschwanztoko and Ceylontoko.
Except for the Zwergtoko ( Tockus camurus ), which prefers moist wetlands, are the types bushland residents. Tokos show a lifelong pair formation. The nests are created in a larger tree cavity and bricked with saliva, mud and fruit puree to a small opening.
