Tod Sloan (ice hockey)

Death Aloysius Martin Sloan ( born November 30, 1927 in Vinton, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1947 to 1961 for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Death Sloan began his career as a hockey player with the St. Michael's Majors, for which he played in the Ontario Hockey Association from 1944 to 1946. Then the attacker received a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, for whom he made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1947/48 season. Previously, he had been since 1946, played for the farm team of the American Hockey League, the Pittsburgh Hornets. During the 1949/50 season Sloan was on loan from Toronto to the AHL Cleveland Barons Club. In the twelve years in which was the center for the Maple Leafs under contract, he won in 1949 and 1951, twice the prestigious Stanley Cup.

On June 6, 1958 Sloan was sold from Toronto to the Chicago Blackhawks, with whom he won the Stanley Cup at the end of his NHL career in the 1960/61 season for the third and final time. In the following season the Canadians made ​​his career at the Galt Terriers in the OHA -Sr. finish.

Internationally

For Canada, Sloan participated in the Ice Hockey World Cup 1962, where he was vice-champion with the team.
