Todd Gitlin

Todd Gitlin ( born 1943 ) is an American sociologist with the main focus on media sociology and former Speaker (Chairman ) of the Students for a Democratic Society, an organization of the '68 movement.

After professorships at Berkeley and New York University, he teaches now at Columbia University and is a regular columnist of The American Prospect and the website opendemocracy.org.

In spring 2011, Gitlin Bosch Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.
