Todd Marchant

Michael Todd Marchant ( born August 12, 1973 in Buffalo, New York ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who played from 1994 to 2011 for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. His brother Terry was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Marchant played high school hockey at the Williamsville East High School. From 1991 to 1993, he played two years in the National Collegiate Athletic Association for the Clarkson University.

NHL Entry Draft 1993, he was selected in the seventh round at 164 position of the New York Rangers. In his first pro season 1993/94 he played for the Rangers, their AHL team in Binghamton, the Oilers and their minor league team in Cape Breton. He arrived in March 1994 to the Oilers in exchange for Craig MacTavish, who was his coach in Edmonton in Marchant recent years. Marchant played between 1994 and 2003 nine full seasons with the jersey of the Oilers, the last alternative captain. Marchant represented the United States at the Junior World Championships in 1993 and at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. He completed 59 games in which he reached 67 points.
