Todd Skinner

Todd Skinner ( born October 28, 1958 in Pinedale, Wyoming, † 23 October 2006) was an American free climber from the U.S. state of Wyoming. In the climbing scene he was known by the first free ascent of the Salathe on El Capitan in the eighties, before all things. By his own account of the extreme climber played more than 300 first ascents in 26 countries at the highest levels of difficulty.

In an attempt to climb a new route on Leaning Tower in Yosemite Valley, California, he fell while rappelling approximately 150 m in depth, since the Anseilschlinge his belt broke. He died at the scene.
