Todendorf

Todendorf ( Low German Todendörp ) is a municipality in the district Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality consists of the villages Altenfelde, Flying Mountain, Kalkkuhle, Mannhagen, Ochsenkoppel and Rönnbaum.

Geography and transport

Todendorf is located five kilometers northeast of Ahrensburg. The Federal Highway 1 and State Road 404 pass through the town. The Gölmbach flows through the community. Parts of the State Forests Reinfeld and Trittau, as the forests Buchenwald and Ochsenkoppel. Further, the Gölmer Moor is located in the municipality of Todendorf.

History

1259 the village was first mentioned. The name derives probably from the proper name Todo. At that time the village was still called Todendorp, later Todendorpe. 1263 sold the Knights Gherbert the village for 150 marks with all rights to the hamburgerische cathedral chapter. 1294 gave the chapter the knight Otto v. Wacker beard Todendorf for 500 marks as a fief. 1300 sold the cathedral chapter of Mark 14 a piece on the knight Johann v. Homore (today Hammoor ). 1766 Before Todendorf was a Dominalgut.

Youth work

Supported by the parents, the pastor and the mayor have established in the year 1974 a youth club about 15 young people. The youths who were 13 to 16 years old, met every 14 days, to play cards, to make sport or dance. Sports

The VfR Todendorf was founded in 1931 as " football club turf sports " and later renamed "Society for turf sports ".
