TOEIC

The Test Of English for International Communication ( TOEIC) is an internationally recognized language test of the Educational Testing Service. The result of the test is used as a measure of the ability of people who do not speak English as a first language to use it in everyday communication of their working environment. The TOEFL is provided in contrast to the TOEIC more for the academic area, for language skills study course approvals and is often used in North America for it. The TOEIC test includes questions to determine the listening comprehension and adoption of the reading comprehension, since 2007, there is also a test part for writing skills and an oral part. The test result is reached a number of points ( max. 990 points ), which is your proof of language proficiency.

There also exists a conversion table, by means of which the scores of the different tests (IELTS, TOEFL etc.) can be compared with each other. Many American universities require a minimum score of 765 on TOEIC points as a study requirement.

It is estimated that report annually worldwide about five million people the TOEIC test. In particular, in Asia (Japan, South Korea ), he is more popular than the TOEFL or Cambridge Certificates.

Certificates

  • Orange: 10-215
  • Brown: 220-465
  • Green: 470-725
  • Blue: 730-855
  • Gold: 860-990

The results of the TOEIC test are determined by the number of correct answers in each section, which is then converted into a score. Test takers will be awarded for the listening and the reading comprehension part on a scale 5-495 points separate points. Consequently, the total score is 10-990 points. Statistical methods ensure that similar TOEIC results actually demonstrate a similar level of English proficiency.

Like all the results from tests on ETS is the TOEIC certificate valid as long as the appropriate language skills of the test candidates will remain the same. However, this knowledge can improve or deteriorate over time. For this reason, the more recent the score, the more likely it is the consistency of the result with the skill of the test candidates. Thus it is recommended to look at the test results up to two years to be valid. It is open to companies and academic institutions, however, free beyond recognition results.
