Toila ( Toila vald ) is a rural municipality in the North Estonian Ida- Viru

Description

The municipality is located Toila the Gulf of Finland, with its scenic cliffs.

Castle of Oru

The construction work was carried out by architect Gavril Baranovsky, the landscape work by the Riga landscape architect Georg Kuphaldt. 1899, the castle and the park were completed in 1901.

1934 bought the estate Estonian Industrial and gave it to the Estonian Head of State Konstantin Pats as the official summer residence. Superb renovated it was a jewel of the Baltic coast, until it was destroyed during the Second World War. The ruins were eliminated by Soviet authorities. Only a portion of the retaining walls on the terrace is still preserved. The park of Oru is a nature reserve.
