Toktu of Bulgaria

Khan Toktu ( Bulgarian Токту ) ruled over Bulgaria from 766 to 767

Toktu was, the Byzantine historian Nicephorus, like its predecessors followers of a Ausgleichspolitk with the Byzantine Empire and a member of the Bulgarian nobility. But like its predecessors, Sabin and Telez, he was expelled by a rebellion. On the run from his enemies, he was assassinated along with his followers near the Danube.
