Tokuyama Dam
The Tokuyama Dam (Japanese徳山 ダム, Tokuyama damu ) is a finished in 2008 dam with a hydroelectric power plant in Japan in Gifu Prefecture. It is used in addition to the generation of the flood control, water supply and irrigation. The shut-off is a rockfill dam.
History
- In December 1957, the Ibi River from the " Electric Power Development Company " was selected for studies on the use of hydropower.
- In May 1976, the Ministry of Construction issued the bulletin " principles of the Tokuyama Dam Project."
- In December 1982, the project was reworked into a pumped storage power plant with 400 MW.
- In May 2000, work began on the main part.
- In May 2004, the plan for the 400 MW pumped storage plant, which should start operating in 2008, was converted into a conventional storage power plant with 153 MW, which will start in 2014.
- In September 2006 we started with the sample storage of the reservoir of the Tokuyama Dam.
- In 2008, work was completed on the shut-off of the dam.
