Tolga Kashif

Tolga Kashif ( Tolga Kasif ) (* 1962 in London ) is a British composer and conductor Cyprus - Turkish descent.

Career

Kashif studied composition at the Royal College of Music and the Bristol University with Derek Bourgeois. He first worked with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and among others, the " City of London Sinfonia ", the " Royal Liverpool Philharmonic " and the " Northern Sinfonia ". He was conductor of the " National Symphony Orchestra of London " in 1992.

In 1999 he composed the soundtrack for the animated film " First Snow of Winter". Followed in 2001 by "The Second Star to the Left". He also wrote the soundtrack for the television production " Where the Heart Is ".

From 2000, he worked with Steven Price at various advertising campaigns, including Vodafone, Nokia, Marmite and Zurich Insurance.

Queen Symphony

2000 Kashif began with the Queen Symphony, which premiered on 6 November 2002 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. Locally members were of the band Queen and Freddie Mercury's mother Jer Bulsara. The performance was broadcast Europe -wide on television. Queen Symphony was nominated for the Classical BRIT Awards for "Album of the Year 2003".

The Genesis Suite

On October 11, 2010 Kashif the London Symphony Orchestra conducted at the Barbican Centre in London at the premiere of his new composition " The Genesis Suite. The music is inspired by Genesis. The pieces used there ( 1 Land Of Confusion / Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, Ripples 2, 3 Mad Man Moon, 4th Follow You Follow Me, fading Lights 5th, 6th Entangled, 7 Undertow / Blood On The Rooftops ) were not only transcribed for orchestra, but re-composed and contain only traces of the originals. the work is more of a reference to the Genesis Suite by Nathaniel Shilkret from the year 1945.
